Top Chef

Top Chef is an American reality competition show on the cable television network Bravo, that first aired in 2006, in which chefs compete against each other in culinary challenges. They are judged by a panel of professional chefs and other notables from the food and wine industry with one or more contestants eliminated in each episode. The show is produced by Magical Elves Productions, the same company that created Project Runway.

Nine international adaptations of Top Chef have been produced, two of which, the Franco-Belgian Top Chef and the Dutch Topchef, have had four seasons each. In the United States, the show has had two spin-offs: Top Chef: Masters, featuring established, award-winning chefs, and Top Chef: Just Desserts, featuring pastry chefs. One more spin-off is planned: Top Chef Junior, featuring contestants in their early teens.

Hung Huynh is a Vietnamese-American chef, and in 2007 was the winner of the third season of Top Chef, the reality cooking competition show on Bravo. He is the Executive Chef at Catch, The General, and Catch Miami.

Born in Vietnam, Huynh was raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and began his culinary training as a young boy in his immigrant parents' Vietnamese restaurant. He has a degree from the Culinary Institute of America,; he cooked at restaurants including Per Se and Gilt in NYC, and at the time of season three Top Chef's airing, he was the executive sous chef at the Guy Savoy restaurant in Las Vegas.

Dale Levitski is a self-taught Chicago chef who competed on Top Chef season 3 and was one of the runners-up to Hung Huynh along with Casey Thompson. Though Levitski did not win fan favorite, he was well liked by fans]citation needed[ and later competed on Top Chef season 8 among the All-Stars. He was eliminated in the third episode.

Dale is currently the executive chef of both Sprout and Frog n' Snail restaurants in Chicago, Illinois.


Casey Thompson

Casey Thompson is a Dallas chef who competed on Top Chef season 3 and was one of the two runners-up to Hung Huynh. She also won fan favorite. Thompson competed on Top Chef season 8 and was eliminated fifth. She was recently executive chef at the Brownstone in Fort Worth, TX.
