The eighth season of NCIS will begin airing on September 21, 2010. CBS has picked up an NCIS spin-off series with the title NCIS: Los Angeles.

The following is a complete list of Home video releases for the CBS television series NCIS. The first nine seasons have been released on DVD in Regions 1, 2 and 4. In Germany (Region 2), season 1–4 and 6–8 were released in two separate sets for each season. The first season DVD release omits the two-part pilot episode that aired as part of the eighth season of JAG. The eighth season of JAG was released on DVD in Region 1 on March 17, 2009, which contains the aforementioned two-part pilot episode of NCIS. All releases are distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment.

Roscoe "Rocky" Carroll (born July 8, 1963) is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Joey Emerson on the FOX comedy-drama Roc, as Dr. Keith Wilkes on the CBS medical drama Chicago Hope, and as NCIS Director Leon Vance on the CBS drama NCIS and its spinoff NCIS: Los Angeles.
Carroll was born Roscoe Fulton Carroll in Cincinnati, Ohio. His acting career is rooted in the theater. In 1981, Carroll graduated from the famed School for Creative and Performing Arts SCPA in Cincinnati Ohio, in the Cincinnati Public School District. Determined to further his knowledge of acting, he attended The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University in St. Louis, where he graduated with a B.F.A. degree. After graduating, Carroll decided to test the waters by moving to New York City, the heart of the theater community. NCIS: Los Angeles (Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Los Angeles) is an American television series combining elements of the military drama and police procedural genres, which premiered on the CBS network on September 22, 2009. The series airs following NCIS on Tuesdays in the United States.
NCIS: Los Angeles is the first spin-off of the successful show NCIS, itself a spinoff of another CBS series, JAG. On October 7, 2009, CBS gave the series a full-season pickup, extending the first season to 22 episodes.
