Sinbad

Sinbad the Sailor (also spelled Sindbad; Arabic: السندباد البحري as-Sindibād al-Baḥri; Persian: سندباد Sandbād) is a fictional sailor and the hero of a story-cycle of Middle Eastern origin, living in Basrah, during the Abbasid Caliphate. During his voyages throughout the seas east of Africa and south of Asia, he has fantastic adventures going to magical places, meeting monsters, and encountering supernatural phenomena.

Film Roc

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad is a 1958 fantasy film released by Columbia Pictures, directed by Nathan H. Juran and produced by Charles H. Schneer. It was the first of three Sinbad films made by Columbia which were conceptualized and animated by Ray Harryhausen and which used a special stop-motion technique called Dynamation (the others being The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger).

While similarly named, the film does not follow the plot of the tale "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor" but instead has more in common with "The Second Voyage of Sinbad the Sailor", which featured the giant roc bird.

Arabian Nights: Sinbad's Adventures (アラビアンナイト シンドバットの冒険 Arabian Naito: Shinbatto no Bōken?) is a 52 episode anime series directed by Fumio Kurokawa and produced by Nippon Animation which was first aired in 1975. The story is based on the children story "Sinbad the Sailor".
