Riverton High School
Riverton is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 38,753 at the 2010 census. Riverton is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state of Utah, and was ranked by CNN Money Magazine as the 60th best place to live in the U.S. in 2005.
Riverton shares city borders with South Jordan to the north, Draper to the east, Bluffdale to the south, and Herriman to the west. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.6 square miles (32.6 km²). The city is located in the Southwestern corner of the Salt Lake Valley about twenty miles (32 km) south and slightly west of Salt Lake City. Riverton City receives an average of 15.76 inches (400 mm) in precipitation each year. Snow can be seen in the winter, while during the summer temperatures occasionally break 100 °F (38 °C). Riverton has grown rapidly in the last few years, transforming it from a rural farming town into a suburban city. Businesses, housing, and roads have replaced many of the farms and cattle ranges.

Herriman High School (HHS) is a public high school in Herriman, Utah. It serves over 2,100 students from the cities of Herriman, South Jordan, and Riverton.
HHS was designed by MHTN Architects, and had an estimated cost of $71,960,000. The grounds cover 55 acres, and has 390,000 square feet of floor space. Located in the southwest corner of the Salt Lake Valley in the Jordan School District, the front of the building faces west with a view of the Oquirrh Mountains. Great care was taken to make sure the building is energy efficient, and the design includes wind turbines and solar panels.

As of July 1, 2009 the U.S. Census Bureau's population estimates division placed the population at 1,130,293, an increase of 161,410 or 16.7 percent since April 2000; out of 366 total MSAs, the Census Bureau ranks it as the 48th largest MSA in the United States in 2009 and the 36th fastest growing since 2000. The Utah Population Estimates Committee estimates the Salt Lake Metropolitan Statistical Area to have a July 1, 2009 population of 1,141,693, an increase of 172,835 or 17.8 percent since April 2000.
